A five row accordion

Erik Ekberg was once a well-known music retailer and entertainment entrepreneur in Gothenburg, Sweden. Accordions bearing his own name were built in Germany and were very handsome. It has been said that the look was better than the quality of the accordion. Ekberg died at a moderately young age in about 1930. The instruments exported from Gera to Sweden sold well.

Ekberg started as an event organizer in 1909, but it was not until 1921 that he began organizing major public competitions. The competitions were held for ten years. Ekberg marketed with his catalogs, which included concert and competition information as well as announcements of accordions for sale.
