The serial number is 2851. This accordion is almost identical to a Dallapè accordion in the gallery with the serial number 3769. Continuous numbering has been used at the Dallapè factory. The bigger the number, the later the accordion is made. So far, it is not known when numbering has started. In addition, the body contains a model number, frame type numbering or similar: “0396”. The last two digits of the number indicate the number of basses, while the first two digits may refer to the frame type or something similar.
The first dealer is marked on metal tiles on the outside and inside the body with stamps: “B.C. Strandqvist =Häsingborg=”. However, the name plate under the manufacturer’s picture has been lost. In addition to the Strandqvisist stamp, the reedblocks have a very vague body number and the inscription “Instrument makare G.I. Andersson”. After this entry you will find the name of the city very vaguely and the phone number 972.
The manufacturer’s markings are very unclear calligraphy. In the body parts you can repeatedly find “Bassi 96 No 2851 bottoni di modreperla”. That means 96 basses, number 2851 with the blue nacre keys. However, as shown in the image, black keys are replaced with plastic keys. Parts of the treble handle are stamped with the number 18, which may be the serial number of the batch in question.
The marking 17/1 1920 on the frame is the possible date of manufacture, the marking of the Strandqvist workshop or the marking that has been carried out by the player. The date is unlikely to be the manufacturer date, since in this case each of the dallapè accordion body for the era should have the date of manufacture. However, I think that is not the case.
The history of the bellows is unclear. The bellows seem to be in good condition compared to the body. However, the bellows ribbons have been replaced, just as in Dallapè accordion number 3769.
