Here’s Artturi välimäki’s first accordion. The accordion was probably made in 1933 or 1934. Välimäki brothers made accordions from 1930 to 1956. Artturi Välimäki lived from 25.9.1898 to 22.4.1954 and Armas Välimäki 6.8.1909 – 10.8.1977. The last accordion co-produced by the brothers was completed in the same year as Artturi died.
In the treble section of the accordion is a text “VÄLIMÄKI” and on each side of the name there is a small Finnish flag mirrored to each other. Between the treble keys and the cage is text “CRÖNQVIST”, which is probably the first owner of the accordion. At the top and bottom of the treble handle – as well as the top and bottom of the bass – there is a floral pattern. On the bass side, near the bellows is text “Turku * Suomi” and in the both sides of the bass keypad are decorated with G-cleffs.
