The accordion in the picture was used by Onni Laihanen.
The accordion factory at Kouvola made sharp-angled functional models with same body work than Virtaviivamalli (the “tie model”) and the arrow models. The accordion style is functionalist, but the grill is unique and the corners are round. In the 1940s, the instrument was named Laihasmalli after Onni Laihanen. However, on many Laihasmalli accordion, the word ‘funkkis’ reads behind the bass keyboard. Therefore ’round-angled funkkis’ is a name that describes the model very well.
