The initials ‘NM’ comes from a Swedish music shop called Nordiska Musikaffären. The company was active 1906–1931 and it was located at Gothenburg.
On its time, the company was fairly large. It started importing with German and Italian accordions. Many NM accordions made in 1910’s are resembling a lot of products made by Hermann Buttstädt in Gera, Germany. According to unconfirmed old rumors, NM ordered parts from a German factory and assembled the instruments in Gothenburg. In late 1910’s, the music shop started to produce – in small scale – own accordions. However, in the same time, it continued importing accordions until the company run out of business.
