The initials ‘NM’ comes from a Swedish music shop called Nordiska Musikaffären. The company was active from 1906 to 1931 and was based in Gothenburg, Sweden. On its time, the company was fairly large. The company started importing with German and Italian accordions. Many NM accordions made in 1910’s are resembling a lot of products made by Hermann Buttstädt in Gera, Germany. According to unconfirmed old rumors, NM ordered parts from a German factory and assembled the instruments in Gothenburg. In late 1910’s, the music shop started to produce – in small scale – own accordions. However, in the same time, it continued importing accordions until the company run out of business.
