Casotto 3 was a new accordion model alongside Oy Harmonikka’s Casotto 60 in 1992. The instrument was with three voices in treble and in its cassotto there was the 16′ voice reed set. The solution is somewhat different from the mainstream.
In the early 1990s, accordion prices pondered readers in Hanuri magazine (The Finnish Accordion magazine). Erkki Järvenpää, the then CEO of Oy Harmonikka, responded for the reader’s comment in Hanuri magazine 2/92 about accordion prices. In return for the high prices, customer got e.g. the high quality instruments which took huge amount of the craftsmanship labour to produce. According to Järvenpää, the extensive subcontracting network of Italian manufacturers also gave the Italians a small advantage in the market.
