According to historical history, the instrument in the picture is the accordion used by Kirill “Kirka” Babitzin. It ended up with Timo Nikki from Kirka for his 40th birthday. Then it passed through Niki’s relatives to the current owner’s summer cottage neighbour and finally to the current owner (2012). The name of the accordion is Jynkkä Levänen. Apparently, the members of Kirka’s band came up with the name on a tour. The names are in the districts of Kuopio. The instrument was put to good shape in autumn 2012 due to its great memory value.
The instrument has two normal surface sounds and two sounds that are in their own recess. All the reedblocks are parallel and there is an aluminium plate on top of the inner valve rows. This is an easy solution for a cassotto, which is clearly different from the traditional Italian cassotto accordion structure.
